Lake Eucumbene is the largest reservoir in the Snowy Mountains Scheme and the central connection between the northern and southern halves of the scheme. Nungar Creek is 17.3kms from our park and is a great spot for fishing. Rainbow and brown trout can be found swimming around, as the creek flows directly out of Tantangara reservoir. The track to get there is unsealed and mostly only accessible by 4WD.

The Tantangara Reservoir is located northeast of the Lake Eucumbene, near the township of Adaminaby. To reach the Tantangara Reservoir, you'll need to drive through Adaminaby from the Cooma side, then continue along the Snowy Mountains Highway until you reach the Providence Portal turn-off. The Providence portal is an exposed concrete block energy distributor. This mixes the water with air slowing the flow of the water. Simple technology but something awesome to look at while exploring the area. You can also follow the river on our walking tracks to take in the scenery and the wildflowers that bloom across the riverbank in spring.

The Park is home to over 200 species of flowering plants, providing a beautiful habitat for the animals that live here.
